About Therapy

The wound is the place where the Light enters you.

Experience feeling heard and seen through therapy.

Suffering is the signal that gets your attention. Your familiar ways of coping are not bringing relief. You’ve tried all the tools that worked before but aren’t working now. Living with this feeling is too much.

You realize it’s time for help.

When you sit across from me and feel the presence of deep compassion, aspects of your thoughts and feelings show up in new ways. An opening happens. Clients often say, “I’ve never told anyone that before.” Sharing more is a natural response as that sense of safety sets in. And it feels good to realize you’re not in it alone.

Your feelings and experiences matter.

When feelings are overwhelming, it can be intimidating and confusing. However, things begin to shift when you learn new ways to take care of yourself through these feelings. It gets easier as your thoughts and emotions are met with a new curiosity and openness.

I will show you how and ask questions that help us see what is underneath the initial feeling. You will start noticing more of your wisdom in the struggles in ways that were not clear before. With this clarity comes understanding, compassion for yourself grows, and changes happen.

Getting to know yourself better increases your capacity for inner stillness. That stillness allows more of the thoughts you believe in different situations to come to your awareness. Then, you can discover how the thoughts you think impact your life.

As you question those thoughts, you will find what is true for you and how to live in alignment with your truth.

Your suffering takes on new meaning.

It’s not easy, but it is worth the freedom that it brings if you are willing to do the work. And when you do that work, no one can take away the wisdom and awareness you gain. You build the tools and skills that are yours to keep.

Who would you be without the thought that happiness depends on someone else?
– Byron Katie

About Jane Bertolani, LMFT

AdminThis is my life’s mission.

I love this work and am grateful every day for the opportunity to do it. There is nothing I’d rather be doing with my life.

My education includes a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology. I participate in regular training for various therapy approaches and to deepen expertise in my primary approach. I work on staying informed and doing my own inner work to deliver the best service I can to you.

Life experiences outside the therapy office have brought a host of unexpected twists and turns. What I give to my clients has been tested on me first.

Here’s what I do outside the office.

If I’m not with a client or at a workshop for The Work of Byron Katie, I’m probably out for a walk on the trail, trying to do a headstand at yoga class, enjoying time with family, or curling up with Netflix.
